I've never played a single note. Is this really for me?

Yes, you are exactly who this was built for. Lesson one assumes nothing: we show you how to find your place on the keyboard before you play anything. If you can point at a key and press it, you have every skill required to start. By the end of the first free lesson you'll have played a real chord, and the second teaches your first chord change.

I don't have a piano. What do I need?

Any keyboard with 61+ keys works, and a second-hand one for $50–80 is genuinely fine to start. Touch-sensitive keys are nice but optional in month one. When you join the free lessons, we send you a one-page buying guide so you don't overspend.

I'm 45 / 60 / 72. Am I too old for this?

No. Adults actually have an advantage with this method. Chord-based playing rewards pattern recognition and consistency, which adults are better at than kids. What kills adult learners is the 10-year classical path. This isn't that.

Do I need to learn to read music?

No. You'll learn to read chord charts: a few letters above the lyrics, the same shorthand professional session musicians use. If you can read “C … G … Am … F”, you're already most of the way there.

How much practice time does it take?

20 minutes a day is the design target. The lessons are 15–25 minutes and each ends with exactly what to practice. Twenty focused minutes daily beats a 3-hour Sunday session. The course is built around that habit.

Four lessons to hundreds of songs. Really?

Honest answer: yes, with a precise meaning. Four lessons teach you the basics: four chords, changing between them in time, and your first complete song. Hundreds of famous songs use exactly those four chords, so from there you genuinely can play along with them from a chord chart, the way singer-songwriters do. Fast, complex pieces still take longer (anyone who promises otherwise is lying to you). That's what the rest of the method, and practice, are for.
