You just played the progression behind “Let It Be”, “Someone Like You”, “No Woman No Cry” — and thousands more.

How it works

Three steps. Thirty days.

This is how the people who write the songs actually play them — and it's teachable in a month.

01

Learn the shapes

12 chord shapes cover most popular music. You'll play your first one in the first five minutes — the course hears you and responds.

02

Lock in the rhythm

Six left-hand patterns turn chords into music — ballads, pop, arpeggios. This is the step that makes you sound like a pianist.

03

Open the songbook

Learn to read chord charts — the shorthand behind every song on the internet — and the whole catalog of popular music opens up.

Lessons that hear you play

Not videos you watch — an instrument you play. Every lesson checks what you play and answers back.

  • The course listens. Play the chord — with your mouse, your computer keys, or a real USB piano — and it knows.
  • Play-along loops with a beat, so you learn to play in time from day one.
  • Real songs, small wins — every lesson ends with something you can actually play.

Every chord. On a button.

The Chord Explorer is an electric piano built into the site: press a button, see exactly which keys make the chord, hear it — then play it back and the display confirms you got it.

  • 220 chord voicings — 12 roots × 5 chord types × every position, with the formula for each.
  • Inversions included — see C become C/E and C/G, and learn the slash chords real charts use.
  • It listens. Play the chord — mouse, computer keys or USB piano — and the LCD confirms it.

Why you quit last time (it wasn't you)

“First, learn to read music.”

Weeks of decoding notation before you played anything you'd want to hear. Imagine learning to read before being allowed to speak.

“Just practice your scales.”

Scales, drills, “Ode to Joy” on repeat. Fine for a nine-year-old with a decade ahead. Demoralizing for an adult who wants to play this year.

“One day this will pay off.”

Motivation dies when nothing you practice sounds like music you love. So practice stops. So you quit — and blame yourself.

The people who write the songs you love mostly don't read sheet music either. They think in chords. That's what we teach you.

The method

Learn 12 shapes. Unlock thousands of songs.

Most popular music is built from a small set of chords played in patterns. Master the shapes, move between them smoothly, add a left-hand rhythm — and nearly any song is yours.

  • No sheet music, ever. Chord charts only — the shorthand working musicians use.
  • Any keyboard works. A $60 second-hand keyboard is plenty. We'll tell you what to look for.

The person behind this

Hi — I'm Lars.

I've spent my life making music. I compose and produce calm piano music that listeners around the world stream millions of times every month — and I built this course out of a simple conviction: the way adults are taught piano is broken.

You don't need ten years of theory. You need real songs, early wins, and a method that respects your time. That's what this is. And if a lesson ever lets you down, email me — a real person reads every message.

Lars, smiling Questions

Fair questions, straight answers

I don't have a piano. What do I need?

Any keyboard with 61+ keys works — a second-hand one for $50–80 is genuinely fine to start. Touch-sensitive keys are nice but optional in month one. When you join the free lessons, we send you a one-page buying guide so you don't overspend.

I'm 45 / 60 / 72. Am I too old for this?

No — and adults actually have an advantage with this method. Chord-based playing rewards pattern recognition and consistency, which adults are better at than kids. What kills adult learners is the 10-year classical path. This isn't that.

Do I need to learn to read music?

No. You'll learn to read chord charts — a few letters above the lyrics, the same shorthand professional session musicians use. If you can read “C … G … Am … F”, you're already most of the way there.

How much practice time does it take?

20 minutes a day is the design target. The lessons are 15–25 minutes and each ends with exactly what to practice. Twenty focused minutes daily beats a 3-hour Sunday session — the course is built around that habit.

Can I really play any song after 30 days?

Honest answer: you'll be able to play the chord accompaniment of most popular songs from a chord chart — which is how singer-songwriters play them. Fast, complex pieces will still be beyond a 30-day beginner (anyone who promises otherwise is lying to you). But “play along with nearly any song you love” — yes, that's exactly what the method delivers.

What if it doesn't work for me?

Full refund within 30 days, one email, no questions beyond “what didn't work?” (we genuinely want to know). You risk one month and zero dollars.
